: This in addition to the wet ballots that don't even go in the machines correctly. The failures always occur in the states where the contest is the closest and where there is historical voting problems. Not surprised at all, but from what I hear from the Campaign Manager for a Virgina State wide office, these problems are not stopping voters.
: When I voted in Fairfax we were given two options to vote - I don't know if this was because the other was not working or what. We could chose to vote on the old familiar electronic ballot or a "new" paper ballot. It seemed to me that everyone I saw was choosing the paper ballots over the electronic. Personally I found the paper ballot a bit out dated however they did scan it in. I was told the scanner recorded the vote immediately. As to the time frame and process I was pleased that I picked a time when I could walk in and out within 5 minutes. My other half got in line at 5:45 this morning and waited about 45 minutes to vote.
: Polls are just data and all data can be manipulated to reflect anything that you want it to say. And since most TV news is left wing, its not surprising to see them showing Obama ahead. Just like how FoxNews has McCain ahead. I'm a libertarian and did not vote for but against Obama, even though I feel he will win the election. But I have cast my vote and maintain my right to complain about the results.
: The only poll that matters today is the final one at the end of the day. Whether you believe Fox, CNN or yourself, it only matters that you actually go vote.
Mashable!
Is there anything Twitter can’t do? Apparently, you can even use it to guesstimate the result of US presidential elections in certain states. This little chart below, although not graphically beautiful, is the result of some algorithms put together by Setfive Consulting. They’re parsing tweets to see if users ha (Read More)
: This reminds me of "Dewey defeats Truman". The US twitter community is significantly left-leaning, which automatically leads to bad polling data. I love twitter, but using it to predict political issues is silly, the majority of the twitter community are almost guaranteed to be democrats or at least left-leaning independents.
Crooks and Liars
I'm so sick of this freaking clown already. Of course everyone is entitled to their opinions, but this guy is a full-blown McCain surrogate now and McCain should be forced to repudiate this kind of divisive crap.ABC:"McCain has fought and bled for our country, loves our country," said Joe Wurzelbacher, aka "Joe the Plumber, (Read More)
: And this is on Fox News. I wonder if Fox News does anything other than glorifying McCain and Palin. Recently they got an _independent_ poll which shows that Fox has covered both McCain and Obama equally! We all know what they say about the guilty conscience
: Joe the Plumber is a full-blown clown. "So, does an Obama presidency mean the death of Israel?" asks a person in the crowd. Joe says, "I'm going to agree with you on that."
: Sheesh - people drool all over themselves when some mindless Hollywood partyhound muffinhead spouts off about a candidate. Why go off on a normal American Citizen that works a 40hr a week manual labor job??? I mean this country was built by guys like Joe the Plummer: hard working, blue collar, socially aware. Not those self aggrandized ninnies in Hollywood. How in touch with reality are you when you are getting chauffeured from $500 lunch meetings to personal yoga trainers to $500 martini meetings? Cut Joe some slack!

AP - Long lines have formed as polls open in Eastern states as John McCain is counting on a narrow path to an upset victory today while Barack Obama pinned his hopes for becoming the nation's first black president on a ground organization designed to swell precincts with voters across the country. : Long lines are not always bad. Unless there is some challengers, long lines rarely dissuade people. Some are saying it is the most historic election of their lifetime. So why not wait in line?
: I was on the line to vote at 5:30am. Was in at 6:00am sharp. If you knew your ED, you were whisked in. If not, you waited until they fetched it for you.
