Most bloggers love their RSS readers. Not only that, but they also love to gain new RSS readers. It is such a joy when you wake up one day and see that your Feedburner count jumped by 200 or 300, right? Those days are quite rare though, and most people seem to have a hard time gaining even a small number of new RSS subscribe (Read More)

: "WordPress is quickly becoming the standard software for the majority of blogs. This fact makes every major release of the software seem like a huge event, but the thing is that this time it is. WordPress 2.7 comes with a huge number of changes, a good chunk of them making some older plugins redundant. This will be a huge upgrade for all blog owners."

Earlier this week, the open-source music player built on Mozilla technology, Songbird, finally made its 1.0 release. After being in development for two years, this version feels like the kind of solid media player we've been expecting and hoping for all along. Although nothing is entirely bug-free, this release worked smoot (Read More)
: "What Songbird delivers is something Apple can't: a more open version of iTunes that runs on PC, Mac, and Linux machines. Apple's locked-down and closed iTunes player lets Songbird comfortably find its niche as the open, alternative music player, much as Firefox became the alternative web browser. "
: Not tried songbird as yet. Does it fulfill all the same features as iTunes? I listen to podcast whilst driving and download the odd film here and there.
: No, like Firefox and Flock and all the other Mozilla software, it's a RAM hog on my Mac and eventually becomes sluggish and need to be quit and restarted. Great ideas, well implemented but iTunes runs all day without causing me problems.

I just came across this article on The Bruce Blog and thought it excellent. Obama does have the chance to be great, and loved. I certainly see that in him. He is the president we need, now.*****Obama Will Be One of The Greatest (and Most Loved) American PresidentsBy Frank SchaefferGreat presidents are made great by horri (Read More)
: I really wish I could be optimistic about this but I can`t shake the feeling that Obama is simply the most talented at inspirational speaking and rhetoric and not much more. The level of adoration for A POLITICIAN that we are seeing is in some ways a little frightening. We are already hearing from the Democratic party that there is no way that Obama will be able to live up to all the promises that he is making. That doesn't sound very hopey-changey to me. Don't get me wrong, I am in no way a McCain supporter, (I actually think Ron Paul was the only real hope) I'm just a little skeptical that Obama is all he's cracked up to be. Until I see otherwise, I'm bound to think he's just a puppet like the rest of them albeit a very likable one. And that could just be the biggest reason to be very vigilant with what the government is going to try to pull off in the next four years.

I call on all Obama supporters to consider immediately wearing clothes of mourning... a black arm band or a black shirt or some other article of black clothing - in a peaceful protest... not only against the feeling that the election has been or is being stolen...But in protest that in the year 2008 - when Technology is so (Read More)
: How about a call to action! "November 4th, 2008 a date that will live in infamy - the constitution was suddenly and deliberately attacked through lies and deceptions." Shout it, blog it, twitter it and podcast it. The blogosphere is mightier then the sword! You, sir, are mightier then the sword! Mourning is for the dead. Democracy isn't dying on my watch. (Sorry I have been watching a little too much Keith Olbermann.)

The Internet has left us not quite ourselves. Half of San Francisco and Brooklyn, it suddenly seems, wishes they were high school students in the '50s. The other half would rather be in a Japanese manga graphic novel. This urge to be someone slightly different has been capitalized on by two websites: FaceYourManga and Yearb (Read More)

Is Windows really that bad, you may ask?Well, Apple Watch asked that very same question and came up with some very interesting statistics.Last weekend, they got to wondering about Mac versus Windows PC pricing after seeing two HP notebooks on sale at the local Target. One of them, a 14-inch model, the HP DV2946NR (pictured (Read More)

When I first reviewed Plurk for ReadWriteWeb, I had only been using this new lifestreaming service for a little while. After using it for much longer, I've realized that there is really just one major difference between Twitter and Plurk - but it's that one difference that makes Plurk so much better. This is a guest post by (Read More)
: Is Plurk still alive? I found most people have headed back to Twitter..I just seem to struggle with the way the conversations are 'hidden' unless you prompt them to open...
: Plurk's UI advantage won't save it when pitted against Twitter's community advantage. At least for me, everyone in my geographical area is on Twitter and not Plurk. So, it's a no-brainer.
