It’s a scary world out there for any traditional advertising creatives who are still waiting for this whole “internet” craze to just go away. If you have been waiting for this whole “web 2.0/social media bubble” you keep hearing about to pop, and the world to return to the days when people left content creation and design (Read More)

: There are several books that will also help confused creatives. There are no excuses left for not being up to speed on where marketing is, and where it's heading.

The answer is nothing. Nada. Absolutely nil. I can’t conjure up one measly scenario in which the Web can’t be of guidance in some way or another. You can educate yourself. You can socialize with people you know. You can socialize with people you don’t know. You can buy tangible things, like cars and planes and houses and iPo (Read More)

: I totally disagree. This is what fanboys and fangirls say: their idol can do no wrong.
The problem with this outlook is twofold. First, if if the web can help you do EVERYTHING you could ever want to do at the moment, then more or less everything you could want to do has been (or is being) done. If that's true for every single member of society, it means that humanity is no longer progressing. Second, if it's not meant to say that, but is instead meant to be read as "for ANYTHING I could ever want to do, I can find at least a little bit of information about it on the internet," it loses its importance. What separates the internet, say, from calling up a nearby university and chatting with a professor? Opening a newspaper? Going to a seminar?
Now, don't get me wrong, I *love* the internet. But seriously, if you can't think of a single thing that needs improvement, you're letting your love of the internet get in the way of rational thought about it.

I’ve been coding away at my new startup CloudContacts for a good bit now and I’ve found that using the CodeIgniter PHP framework has been great. I’ve always been able to edit PHP code pretty well but starting an application from scratch has been a struggle. I watched a few CodeIgniter videos and was off. T (Read More)
