Los principales partidos políticos de España hacen un mal uso de Internet y de las nuevas tecnologías. La razón es que principalmente recurren a estos instrumentos en periodos electorales, no actualizan con la suficiente periodicidad los contenidos de las webs y apenas permiten la interacción con los ciudadanos. Así lo afirmó en una entrevista a Servimedia Octavio Rojas, uno de los organizadores de las jornadas "Blogs. La conversación" que se desarrollará el 11 de noviembre en la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid para analizar el papel que los ciudadanos están jugando en la sociedad a través de Internet. Para este experto en nuevas tecnologías, los políticos se comportan de un modo "muy electoralista" en Internet porque "cuando se acercan las elecciones quieren estar ahí pero luego no tienen un compromiso real de permanencia". A su juicio, los partidos "necesitan mejorar" en Internet con "mayor movilización y mayor discusión" en sus foros y blogs, donde actualmente predomina una comunicación "vertical" en lugar de promover el feedback con los ciudadanos.
