Benidorm, Valencian Country, Spain and Canary Islands
Benidorm is called the Manhattan of the Costa Blanca, not cause its super cool, but because of its numerous high rises. We didn't spent much time here, we drove 20 min to the next town called Calpe. We did a cool hike, up a huge rock peninsula, and recommended by the guide book we brought with us. Being experienced hikers and being completely ignorant as to what we were getting ourselves into, we embarked on the hike with just our "flippy-floppies". The start of the hike was nothing more than a walk in the park with a nice stone path that led us into a manmade tunnel. The tunnel was pretty neat, complete with ropes to help guide us in the dark and to avoid bailing on the slick rock. Once out of the tunnel, the path changed drastically, to jagged rocks, slippery mud and cliff faces accented with a million seagulls (and their droppings...).
