Big-box retail giant Best Buy announced a retail partnership with Google to install the web services giant's free Google Mobile App on all compatible smartphones, including BlackBerry, Windows Mobile and S60 devices. Google Mobile App includes one-click access to Google Search, including voice-enabled queries, as well as My Location local business search and links to applications like Google Maps, Gmail and YouTube.
Per terms of the deal--Google's first mobile application partnership with a U.S. retailer, Best Buy notes--Best Buy Mobile associates will install Google Mobile App in conjunction with the chain's Walk Out Working free in-store smartphone setup program. In addition, on Nov. 9 Google will launch a new website to tout the partnership and offer mapping information for the nearest Best Buy location.
