Long before the use of jewellery, women wore flowers to beautify themselves Through their striking colours and fragrance, they have helped people to improve their beauty since time immemorial In almost all major civilizations that the world has witnessed, there is evidence of females and sometimes even men putting flowers in their hair

No two flowers have an identical scent Because of these differences in scents, and of course the significant differences in their looks, all important flowers have been assigned to specific moods or occasions The uniqueness of their fragrances has encouraged perfume makers down the ages to come up with an enormous variety of products, each unique in its own way However, synthetically manufactured perfumes that are developed from non-organic compounds have now swept the market, and flowers are hardly being used in the manufacturing process
