Summary

It's that time again, UTEP Game Week. Head coach Neil Callaway was on hand to speak with the media on Monday at the weekly press conference. There's excitement in the air about the upcoming game at UTEP and for good reason, even though the UAB Blazers lost at Marshall 27-7 in the game on Saturday. If you look at the 2009 game results, you might not necessarily agree that that has been a good year for the Blazers. But coaches, players and fans are standing behind their team in spite of the losses the Blazers have racked up thus far.

Some say that there's a lack of focus but whatever the case may be, the results speak for themselves. The Blazers opened the season with a win against Rice 44-24 but then went on a losing streak to SMU 35-33, Troy, 27-14 and Texas AandM 56-19; the latter of which came as no surprise to many. The Blazers broke up the losing run with a win over Southern Miss 30-17 but then loss to Ole Miss 48-13 and Saturday's game against Marshall.
