As I walked back to my accomodation to get some sleep I started seeing locals exercising in the main square. There were a group of elderly men playing keep-ups with a weighted shuttlecock, they were really good at keeping in airbourne for long periods of time. They saw my interest and invited me to join in with them, it is much more difficult then it looks, but they make it look effortless with acrobatic moves, whilst they enjoy joking to one another and telling stories. One of the men spoke good english, he was a pilot for cambodian airlines. He asked about my and my travels and I took interest when he told me about Cambodia. After working up a sweat with the older guys I ended up agreeing to send a postcard to one of them (he works for the Cambodian foreign affairs office and his friends work with the Cambodian Olympic committee (my connections! lol)) around Christmas and he would do the same.
