Summary

Until GPS becomes a standard feature on digital cameras, customers are forced to rely on third party geotagging solutions to tag personal photos to the locations in which they were taken. Geotagging is the process of adding geographical data to various media such as photos, movies, etc. While we have to wait for digital cameras to catch onto geotagging, there are some third party companies that offer geotagging solutions that we can use today. One such company is GiSTEC and they sell the PhotoTrackr USB Flash Drive.


The PhotoTrackr USB Flash Drive allows users to sync their digital cameras to the PhotoTrackr drive and GPS tag their photos. This means that the next time you go out on a camping or hiking trip and take pictures, you can have the exact GPS location of where those photos were taken so that if any friends of family with to visit the same spot, they can! Or you can years later look back at the pictures you took and plan a follow up trip.
