Ad agency TBWA brings back former senior executive Robert Harwood-Matthews from US to take UK group president role
TBWA has abruptly parted company with its UK group president, Tim Lindsay, and parachuted in a former senior executive, Robert Harwood-Matthews, from the US to take over the role.
Harwood-Matthews worked for TBWA for six years, running the PlayStation account in London and then heading the Manchester office, before leaving last year to work for the ad group in Los Angeles. After a short stint he left to join the media agency PHD, saying that creative agencies did not represent the future of the industry.
TBWA UK poached Lindsay, the former UK chairman of Publicis UK, in 2007 to revitalise the agency following a period of management turmoil. Three senior managers, including the chief executive, Andrew McGuinness, and the creative chief, Trevor Beattie, left TBWA London in 2005 to launch their own agency.
