Texas Longhorns quarterback Cold McCoy and wide receiver Jordan Shipley received the notification officially on Monday that they've been named semifinalists for national awards. McCoy is one of 15 in line to receive the Davey O'Brien Award, which is for the nation's top quarterback. Shipley is one of 10 semifinalists being considered for the Biletnikoff Award for the nation's top wide receiver. Winners will be publicly announced November 23. The Texas Longhorns are not newcomers to these awards and were among the first to take home such an award in 1977. Fans, coaches and players alike wish McCoy and Shipley well and hope to see them gain this national recognition.
