Microsoft used to have a stranglehold in the Internet Browser market place.
Just as much, or maybe even more, than they did the personal computer market.
Now this is not as true anymore.
They still have a dominance in the browser market place but the competition has quickly caught up.
With newer offerings such as Firefox, Opera, and the new Google Chrome browser stepping up as quality alternatives, Microsoft has seen their browser percentage fall off dramatically.
(There have also been issues in Europe that have led to Microsoft no longer bundling IE with new versions of Windows 7).
This has arguably led to Microsoft increasing the quality of their internet browser offerings.
One of the things that has greatly improved are the privacy features that the browser offers.

The first thing that Microsoft has done to protect your privacy is to add a feature in Internet explorer 8 that will block out advertisements that are directed towards you.
