I'm an early adopter. In October 1969, I wrote my first computer program in machine code on an ICL mainframe computer with 96 bits (yes bits) of memory. In 1981, I co-wrote a best-selling program for the BBC Model B computer. In 1996, I was head of an Internet Service provider (Which? Online), that included a simple social network, two years before Ecademy launched.
I was reminded of this background yesterday while presenting a course in London on the business use of Twitter. One of the delegates asked me how long I'd been using it. I knew I joined the service on April 22nd 2007. so it turns out today I've been using it exactly two and a half years. Seemed like a good time for a look back.
