Most Google Ads consist of simple keyword based text — copy that is so simple in nature today's copywriters must loathe their existence and probably goad one another with insults like this: "if you don't get this project right, your next gig will be writing Google context ads." Sha shaaa, copywriters. Anyway, Google is advertising itself in an attempt to compete with Windows 7, and employs (of all things) simple text ads to get the job done.



The campaign hinges on Google's network-cloud, a service that solves a number of problems by rethinking how we use our computers. Where Microsoft pioneered creating information, Google's successes have mainly been in optimizing how we share that info. As the thought and execution leader on the subject it will be hard for Microsoft to step in and ask people to buy their so-far untested product — especially considering Google's is free, always.



Oh, and Google is planning to expand its mobile advertising platform, too.
