Last week in the Mashable Chat, Pete and Robert Scoble were discussing FriendFeed and some of the reasons the service failed to take off with mainstream users.
The influx of information, the inability to control what you see and the overall ease-of-use were all reasons mentioned why the service will probably be better used as technology infrastructure for Facebook rather than something users use in and of itself.
Today, the social networking service Cliqset is entering public beta and introducing an Adobe Air client as well as an app for the Boxee platform, looking to pick up where FriendFeed left off.
What is Cliqset? Basically think of it as FriendFeed) done right. Cliqset lets you aggregate your information from other social services, communicate and share in real-time, and create individual conversations around different items that you or a friend shares with the service. But the best part of Cliqset is that you can control what information your see (or don’t see) and you have more control over the influx of content.
