Your article has dropped out of the SERPs completely for me David. I can't find it in the first 10 pages at all. It was top 10 the last time I looked. Temporary freshness boost or did Google drop the ball?

I can get through to your Knol page now without an error so maybe the rankings will be restored soon. I'll be watching this with interest.

Yes Nick, I find a page with a picture of my listing in Google uploaded with Skitch is ranking #8 for "read russian" because it appears in the title and in the page name, but the Knol article itself has dropped to Position #17.

Not good for Knol when an author's content disappears, and the warning sign makes it seem as if the autor has done something bad...

Geek tip: Just in case you didn't know - you can set Google Search to show more than 10 results.

I have mine set to 100 as default, but this will show 20 results: http://www.google.co.uk/search?num=20&q=read+russian

Ah yes I see it now. I was looking in the com index where it is sitting at position 25 for me. That's a big drop from the first time I looked at your SERPs after the comment you made at Sphinn..

I was just wondering of this was the freshness boost wearing off the page or whether the content disappearing caused the drop.

Google Knol is back and working fine now, but a little worrying.


Knol really needs a community channel - all I've found so far is an email address for help - the lack of community and channels for bugs / feedback is making Google look bad, and is going to discourage serious authors with a lot to offer.
