Summary
This week we're busy fixing about 100 user-submitted bugs. (Gee, thanks guys!) But, we also want to make some progress on your feature requests too. So, which of the following would you like to see us to do first? 1. Auto-share your socialmedian activity onto FriendFeed. 2. Import my blog to my socialmedian page. 3. RSS enable every page on socialmedian. 4. Put a socialmedian widget on my blog with my recent stories. 5. Something else?

RSS first. Then I can use other things like Yahoo Pipes on it and also feed things to my Twitter account, and also keep an eye on key people / topics.

1, 3.
Also make it easier to go to the actual article. Requires too many clicks right now.

duplicate content would be very useful... auto suggest others that may be of interest to follow.. or like amzon - people who follow Nigel, also follow.... share with my network, be it LinkedIN or Facebook. (LI first) Thanks.

RSS and a widget would be welcome. Have also been thinking about visual representation of popular stories, e.g. graphs or news bubbles, etc.

rss/widget. Then make the site understand that I really am logged in, and don't need to do it again. (That could just be the beta Flock browser's handling of cookies though?) :)

Am I the only one who has to sign in every time I visit? All other sites remember me (some ask, some don't), why doesn't SM?
Otherwise RSS is important. You can always RSS into FriendFeed if need be...

3. RSS enable then 2. Import blog. Please do not start importing Twitter or other FF content. Don't want to see this become another place overrun by often inane conversations about trivial topics.

FriendFeed tells us: "We periodically add new supported services, although it's largely based on user demand." User demand as reported by emailing feedback@friendfeed.com asking them to add socialmedian.

Tabrez,

@jason you can post a message in FriedfeedFeedback room[1] and ask all socialmedian users to "like" it. Friendfeed guys must use their own measuring methods but raising voice shouldn't hurt us either.

how about a "who to follow" suggestion based on people followed by the people I follow?
Reply

Bergholt,

In order of preference:

3. RSS enable every page on socialmedian. Inbound as well as outbound.

2. Import my blog to my socialmedian page. Through RSS/XML/Atom. Same as above really.

Personally, I don't need 1 & 4, but suppose that 1 could be done through the implementation of RSS support.

Potential 5's:

* Duplicate content filter

* Public profiles/pages -- with customizable levels of information sharing

I'm going to email it. I was starting to ramble a bit and with a little editing it should be a short email. Check for it this afternoon. If you have a particular address I should use you can send it via Twitter. @michaelfidler

Hey everyone. We have now enabled RSS feeds for "My Networks" "Me" tabs on the homepage, and "my clips" on your public profile page. A few of us have already used the feed from "me" which shows your socialmedian activities to turn that into our feeds on FriendFeed. You can see mine in action here for instance. http://friendfeed.com/jasongoldberg

Agree! we need to add person-group and person-person communications, replies, etc. working on it! polls and surveys are asked for a lot too. We have a feature up our sleeves to enable NewMakers to start and lead discussions with their readers via SMS :)

Great Ideas, All of them. I'm still going to send a couple suggestion in an Email, only because they need a bit more thought, and will come with possible solutions. I would have already sent it, but, I was in meetings this afternoon and still have some catching up to do . Besides, I've got stories to clip. One little thing I can mention. I'm starting to feel like an orphanage for abandoned networks. I try to throw some stories in them whenever I find something relevant, but I feel like some of their owners might not be coming back. Have you had time to think about abandoned accounts. A couple I wouldn't mind taking over. I know this is low priority, and I would be disappointed to see you waste time on this right now. I read your blog and I had a feeling you might be working with a small team, but that would be an understatement. I'm am truly impressed at how much you've accomplished. Just like with Twitter, less is more. I don't remember your assistants name, but I'm sure he deserves credit also.
