I just realized I have not entered Google Reader since creating my SocialMedian account this morning... What do you think? Can this replace your feed reader? Read the full article
It is an interesting thought. While we have not thought at all about competing against Google (who would want to do that?), what we have done a lot of thinking about and work towards is how could groups of similarly interested people track and share news of interest.
@Jason and I think that's an evolutionary aspect of the RSS reader. By nature there is noise and what SocialMedian does is add a human filter to that noise inherently making it more "productive" for the user than just a river of news..
the reason the RSS feeds start to not work is there ends up being too many of them - the human element of this will hopefull avoid it, however belonging to too many networks or following too many people may mean you become equally as over or underwhelmed.. maybe we should personally rate each clip/post and based on the score then thats what would determine where it is displayed... or aggregate others in the networks score for relevance..
@webmarketing socialmedian is good for discussion on special geek topics if that's what you're into, but there's also some awesome discussions going on here on all sort of topics like the olympics, photography, wine, etc. The point is it is what you want it to be. It's a social feed reader plus plus, and aspiring to be much more.
