BlogRank is a new ranking system for blogs. You really should check it out.

BlogRank dynamically ranks blogs in a wide variety of categories.  Here is a small sample of the categories:

The sheer number of categories and blogs is impressive.  Data is collected on about 20,000 blogs, although not all of those blogs appear in the rankings.

And of course there’s a category for small business blogs. And that’s good, because Small Business Trends is currently ranked number 1 in the small business blog category of BogRank.

BlogRank is the brainchild of Invesp Consulting, a Michigan ecommerce conversion optimization company.  According to Shereen, one of the team members there, the algorithm took 8 months to develop. More than 20 different factors are used to rank blogs. Factors include RSS subscribers, number of incoming links from Yahoo, the number of pages indexed in Google and Yahoo, rankings in Compete — just to name some.

BlogRank is a good tool if you want to discover new blogs to read
