Apple and their iPhone App Store have been in the news quite a bit lately - and not in a good way. A series of high-profile application rejections and generally poor decision-making regarding their application approval process have led many iPhone advocates to question the cult of Apple - and their vague, preposterous standards regarding the acceptability of applications for the iPhone and iPod touch might become the deciding factor in the coming mobile war between Apple, Google, Blackberry and Nokia.
Wow the things we learn when surfing bloggers. I'm not really up with the play on all these gadgets, one thing I do know though is I can't stand a monopoly being held by product designers - competition is good for the consumer, it makes and keeps the producers like Apple, Google, Nokia and more honest.
This will all work itself out. Apple and the iPhone App Stores are still a bit draconian in their methods. They've always been that way though. Overall, I think the upcoming competition from Blackberry and Nokia can only be good for us consumers as prices come down and more bells and whistles are added and the apps become simpler and more user friendly.
