The world-renowned economist Lord Nicholas Stern made headlines in 2006 with a report for the UK government that surveyed the risks posed by climate change, the costs of addressing it, and the far greater costs of inaction.
I struggle with a lot of the climate change public furor. I was not alive at the time, bit if anything was close to climate change, it should have been the dust bowel of the 1930's. Anyway, excellent points and post. Thanks!
The solutions needed for the climate change situation seem very intense. The meeting in December appears to be huge. With many parties needing to come together in order to make an impact, I sincerely hope that everything that Mr. Stern states needs to be accomplished can be done. We are talking primarily about the future, and there are equally important situations that need solved in the short term and yet we can not ignore this blueprint of strategies.
I read about some article that emissions offsets will play an important role in any future global climate deal, but it will be necessary to scale up the climate efforts and move from projects to programs. Great post, keep it up.
Climate change is a huge issue. While a lot of countries are moving towards helping with the situation, there always seems to be more that needs to be done. I think in the near future, we are going to be seeing some very strict implementations to try and reach the goals of protecting our environments as efficiently as possible.
