A Muslim calligrapher who had never read the New Testament has spent two months writing the Gospel of Luke in Arabic script.
Yasser Abu Saymeh has devoted hours to the script which be presented to Pope Benedict XVI when the Roman Catholic leader visits the Holy Land next month.
Abu Saymeh admits he never read a New Testament text before working on his latest project which he was selected for by Bethlehem's Christian mayor.
He said he has since come to appreciate the shared strands of the two faiths.
