Summary

It hasn’t even been a day since Facebook opened up its developer API stream, but companies and applications have already jumped on the opportunity by expanding the functionality of their products. Just today, we’ve already highlighted the upcoming Facebook updates by Seesmic Desktop that will utilize the new Open Stream API.

Now, email management software Xobni, which we featured as a great implementation of Facebook Connect, has taken advantage of the new features as well. Starting later this evening, it will be possible to see the news feed items of your Facebook friends inside of Microsoft Outlook.

Xobni is a desktop software that creates profiles of all of your contacts, organizes them, and integrates with social networks and IM within Microsoft Outlook. It already integrates with Facebook, LinkedIn, and other networks by providing a way to look through social networking contacts.
