Summary
When it comes to relationship status, not all countries are created equal, at least not in the world of online social networking.

According to statistics obtained from Facebook’s analytics system, there is a disproportionately large percentage of users reporting their relationship status as “single” in Middle-Eastern and South Asian countries; meanwhile, there is an equally heavy percentage of users reporting their relationship status as either “In a relationship,” “Engaged,” or “Married” in European countries. It is amazing how they can figure out all this detailed data and come up with Facts. This is incredible! Obviously, FaceBook is certainly popular by many.

Analysis of demographic data can assist a wide variety of people from marketers (of any type) to those who are looking for love in "all the wrong" (or perhaps right) places. It is interesting to see which countries fall in the different categories.

I'm left a little speechless, I love researches, the provide the most amazing stuff - from the innane to the important.

So demographically speaking I'm in the the top ten “least single” country of Australia, but I'm a Kiwi too and New Zealand falls under the same category.

I personally use facebook and other social media sites as a business tool - therefore you have to say who and what you are, because as everyone knows in network marketing people join people - and they can't join you if they don't know about you. :-)

I think that you can't trust the data. I'm sure that there are a lot of people who lie about their relationship status, just like I know that most people have a few facebook accounts registered under different names.

All data comes with assumptions, including this. There's no "trust" or "no trust". Interesting findings!

I really thing that face revolutionized the the Dating scene and it will never be the same again, Facebook made the whole thing more much more like prospecting instead of the natural version of it...

Very interesting facts from Facebook. I wonder how many of these singles are single at all and only on Facebook to look for a relationship.

As you said, more women who are single would likely not report that all over the place for privacy reasons.

Based on these two observations, I wonder how accurate any assessment of these facts would be? I don't know.

I wonder if that's down to cultural issues.. but some stats are inaccurate because people don't want to feel as though they are being spied on I guess. Still love the stats you can get from facebook though, amazing!

This is funny. I wonder if it pays to be single in Finland, because your chances are good at not staying single...or does that lack of single people make it tough to date? I guess it depends upon how you look at it.
