Since being acquired by XING in December 2008, the socialmedian team has been busy working on a number of very important strategic product initiatives which will be launched over the course of this spring. In the coming months we'll be launching a series of new features both on socialmedian and on XING.
We're rolling out the first such initiative today: Facebook Connect on socialmedian.

Users can now sign-up for socialmedian using their Facebook account with just one-click.
Intriguing idea, looking forward to finding out how to use Social Median more effectively to market my business and keep in touch. Anything that joins up social networking like Twitter does is good by me!
@jasongoldberg Congratulations! As I've said before, FB Connect is a welcomed addition, which allows me to have more control over the sharing of my content. I've noticed that I'm not staying logged in between browser sessions. Is this one of the features of FB Connect? If so, it's a small inconvenience considering all the benefits it brings. I look forward to adoption of FB connect on all the site I use! BTW, You really need to check your inbox on FB:-) How come we're not friends over there too?
1. It should publish to Facebook whenever you clip a story. If not, please let us know! 2. All of your Facebook friends will see your shared items, not just your FB friends who have socialmedian.
@thelongcount Hi, if this isn't working or you want to change/control the settings go into FB >> Application Settings >>> Social|Median | edit settings. You should get this screen. http://twitpic.com/26d33
@jasongoldberg Hey Jason. @nigelwalsh Hi Nigel. Im just replying and letting you guys know that my app setting for S|M on FB is set publish stories, however it still does not when i clip a story, only afterwards if i comment or like/dislike. When i clip the story i get the regular clip dialog that we've always gotten and no option to post to facebook straight away. there was a moment when instead of the regular clip dialog box contents (you know, the url, title, and a quote), it displayed for a second some sort of login or clipping option to post with just S|M or with the connect service. it flashed so fast then redirected me back to the reg clipit options that there was nothing i could do. Anyhow, just letting you guys know. :\
@thelongcount I think I know what you are referring to. @jasongoldberg I think the guys need to look at the UI/User Experience for none logged in users to SM or FB. It could do with a tweak. @nishith
@thelongcount @nigelwalsh Thanks for bringing this up. We've made some changes to the fb-connect behavior. You should not see this problem again. But do give us a shout if you see anything strange. @jasongoldberg @Scottwheaton @nishith
