yes, as twitter becomes more mainstream, the power of the network will reveal more and more uses. we are seeing this happen already. twitter has gone from 1MM users to 8MM users in one year. lets see what happens next!

It's an inspiration to watch this video and see how Twitter started as sort of an "ugly stepsister" and became a featured star. Love the "I dropped my phone in the toilet" moment.

Twitter is at the leading edge of the microblogging trend. There can be no better endorsement for the power and influence of Twitter than the decision of Google to reference its conversations in search engines in the same way it does with content from any other source. Purist may be offended by the fact that "tweets" understand ordinary chit chat outrank classic content, but Google's realism according the motto, "if you can't beat them, join them" shows that this is a trend we can only ignore at our own peril.

I agree and use twitter when I am out and about to send people to my blog or any important information that comes through my network. Twitter is how I also communicate with my boy's when I am traveling too. Great Tool!
