This tool gives you a free SEO analysis of your website in 20 areas of popularity, relevancy and site structure. It takes about 20 seconds for the application to determine your score, from 0 to 100. The full analysis is a non-technical explanation of how to improve your score. Read the full article
This tool worked pretty well as soon as I realized that it didn't want me to input the full URL. I had to eliminate the 'http://' part before it would run. It would be nice to put a little example text on the page or, even better, reprogram it so it doesn't care whether or not the 'http://' is included. The current situation where you get an error message with no explanation is disconcerting.
In any case, providing this seems like an effective marketing tactic. I may just have to copy it!
Yes I agree with Solarcat ... I came here to let you know the exact same thing pointed out above ... do it now! or you will be experiencing click aways ... and nobody online wants that now do WE! lol
I tried it before I read the reviews. I was wondering why my google page rank is 2 and this tool couldn't find my site. I almost clicked away then read the comments here about leaving out the http://. Once I got it to work, it is a great useful tool.
Pretty cool tool, but some of the stats are not as accurate as they could be. If you get that spot on then your onto the winner, really fast though.. I've bookmarked it so it's still very addictive!
I like this tool a lot. It's perfect for my analytical personality. Between this and the headline tester tool, you can get a real good ranking for your website!
Thank you for sharing the toll with all of us. Good stuff. As most of my sites are blogs, I can't wait for their Blog Analyzer, which will be coming out very soon. But I guess using the Website Analyzer will do for now for me. Thanks again.
@money24seven @solarcat thank you for the feedback. I made it so would not have to put "http://" since even browsers have been getting away from that over the past couple of years. Also, depending on how you set up your DNS, a "www.domain.com" vs "domain.com" can have different results. However, I will add something to be more descriptive on the error screen, or add "no http://" under the field.
@mrkimb hi, and thanks for the feedback! Hopefully blog analyzer will come out in the next couple of months. Struggling with how I should get some of the data I really need to evaluate properly!
@Elizabeth_Nichols Hi Elizabeth! What browser are you using? We are still having problems with IE7, so if you let it run, it should come up with a score.
Very interesting. I came out with a score of 66 and a 93 percentile. I'd like to check it out over time to see how it changes. Also I'd like to check other sites in comparison. Overall I think they're on to something. Thank you!
@sheridd hi there! your Google PR (page rank) is from 0 to 10, where the higher the better. Most sites will be between 0 and 5 - even I have only a 3 right now :)
@rickdavis I guess it depends on what you were found for :) Many companies I work with can't even come up in the search results with their own names, but some do. You can try to change the content on your page, along with your meta data and see if that helps you over time. It works for me: do a search for "better marketing performance" :)
that is a really nice tool, think it highlighted a few problems with my site that i am aware of, in particular the structure would benefit with a more silod approach ...
