I wonder how we can market to these kids to get their parents to buy?

Is there a Facebook app that returns age & other demographic data for a list of profiles? That would definitely be useful.

Is this news? Most teens I've talked to don't even know or only have a faint idea of what fb is. Similar with twitter but getting much better.

AdChap is tremendous resources for knowing and choosing the right social media channels for reaching the right target markets. if the youth market is the one you are after, than FaceBook according these results will not be the right channel for reaching them.

I just got an invite on Facebook from my 70year old mom. That was a little weird!

Yeah, it does seem more mature than MySpace!

Facebook is so much newer than myspace. The teens are finding it now and I think facebook will be just like myspace in a few years. Also, you must remember that a lot of teens lie about their age on these sites. I've seen profiles of my teenagers' friends that say they are 18, 19...99 even. You can enter any date of birth so I'm not sure how realistic the statistics are. They can only go based on the information they have, which, unfortunately, may be incorrect data.

My kids just set up their FB acct's a couple weeks ago. Seems like they want to join the old people.

This doesn't surprise me too much as most under 18s keep in contact at school so don't feel the need to have a facebook profile just yet. Then they leave school and probably set up one to keep in contact with old friends especially if they are going to universities all over the place.

I wouldn't think teenagers would be using facebook until one of my daughters friends requested to be my friend. I was shocked. Most teens have myspace pages.

Being a newbie to social media I would have thought that the teen sector would be the largest user of facebook, and maybe the novelty of myspace has worn off and there is no rush by the younger ones to move on to something new allow somewhat similar. good info . thnx

FB has no limits on use by age, if you have a computer today you will soon have a FB page!
