Summary

Adrian Kingsley-Hughes got copy of Windows 7 beta 1 in my stocking for Christmas Day. This beta (build 6.1.7000.0.081212-1400) should be the first and only beta from Microsoft of Windows 7, and he reports that it’s a good one.

Been using a pre beta release on my laptop and can say that i have had no problems at all. All my software installed and worked. Found all but one driver. i download a vista driver, again no problems. The performance of my laptop (2gig dual proc) with everything installed seems much better but further use is needed. I'm hoping i can upgrade with the beta 1 release.
