Summary
Cast your vote here for Twitterer of the year.

Who was your favorite Twitterer to follow?

My vote goes to
@fredwilson. He's one of the few people I subscribe to on Twitter via SMS as I always find his tweets insightful and thoughtful on all things VC, web 2.0, startup, twitter, the financial markets, music, and nyc.

It's hard to say. I'd give a vote for the entire Twitterverse. If pressed, it might be someone like
@chrisbrogan or @jasoncalacanis (except he didn't give me his old Macbook Air when the new ones came out) or
@jeffcutler ... but who's he? In retrospect, the beauty of Twitter is that you get to connect with the people who you choose to learn from and be influenced by. So the Twitterer of the Year is moot when approached from a global perspective.

@chrisbrogan is a response I've heard very often

That's because Chris is real, knows the space, thinks before he tweets, connects with people without looking for an angle, and is pretty darn smart too.

I would not put me on the Twitter list. I use Twitter mostly for broadcasting my blog posts, and I know it. I am better on FriendFeed and Socialmedian.

probably
@scobleizer because when he's not interviewing someone/thing cool, He's in the middle of a good twitter conversation...

@scobleizer is a no brainer. I really like what @applemacbookpro is doing lately. I'd give him honorable mention.

Shouldn't we also add this as the year of @BarackObama ? Wasn't that a major reason for a lot of the increased popularity of Twitter?
He may not have been my favourite to follow but definitely needs to be on an end of year Twitter list in some capacity.

#twittereroftheyear is @2drinksbehind - he was at the right time in the wrong plane. within 24h followers increased to 1,466 from 171 #record

With over 150,000 followers, and winning the presidential election, I definitely think @BarackObama deserves to be Twitterer of the year!

I guess my question for @barackobama would be whether or not it's actually him doing the tweeting? Especially given that I never followed him.

Either way, he certainly did a lot to bring Twitter into the consciousness of the mainstream, so maybe that gets him the award regardless.

My personal favorite tweeters are @geoffliving,
@danpatterson and the indefatigable @dough (Doug Haslam)
