Here is our interview with Jessica, an accountant at an international Internet company in Silicon Valley. She tells us that she is such an example who benefits from online recruitment via social media websites.
Jessica Irvine: I am Jessica. I just came to Silicon Valley this month (in a big Internet company.) I feel helpful in sharing with you about a new way to effectively acquire a good job. The new job-seeking model is getting hot recently. It's job-seeking through existing employee's referral.
As you know, there're a lot of talents in Silicon Valley, so it's difficult for an undergraduate freshman to hunt an excellent job here. I didn't know anyone from any company. I've sent tens of thousands of CV to many companies but zero-responded. I was totally running to despair that time. However, I remember clearly, that's 2 months ago, that I randamly surfed the Internet and hit into Jobirn.com, a website with many referrers. Although there were not many members at that time, but luckily I found Sandeep, who is now my colleague and works in the company I am looking to get in. I directly contacted him and persuaded him to work as my referrer, since my background is pretty good anyway. After he referred me to his company, I got phone interview from HR and on site interview. Sandeep is helpful in the later process. He is so kind to tell me what kind of preparation I should make for the interview.. When I join the company, he located the best team for me to work in.

Jobirn.com, Tuglink.com and WhoToTalkTo) or alumni network of your college. Read the full article
