Summary
The operators of 12 mostly local startup companies will try to appeal to investors' pocketbooks Thursday at Invest Southwest.

The 16th-annual conference takes place all day at the Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North. The goal is to facilitate relationships between venture capitalists and angel investors and businesses that need money to grow.

Each company will give a 10-minute presentation about their business plans to give investors an idea of their potential. The presenters are not guaranteed to receive funding. One company, though, will be named Best Presenter and receive a small investment from SCF Arizona.
