Having a lot of followers means nothing. Does anybody even use Twitter that way any more? I just use search.twitter.com and external 3rd party apps to post. I rarely see the standard interface, so I'm not reading your tweets! @fruchter @hutch @michaelfidler @jasongoldberg @robdiana
@louisgray There are plenty of newer people who figure that the more followers you have the more important you are. This is still present in many social networks as well. Personally, I do not use Twitter that way as I do not care how many subscribers I have there. If people want to "tweet" with me I am there.
I have an aversion to apps on my PC (beyond the MSFT ones), so I've held off on Tweetdeck. But FriendFeed real-time has shown me the value of a self-updating flow of info. Maybe I'll check out Tweetdeck sometime.
