1.sm for all important news that i used to read in outlook. 2.Twhirl for twitter and FF. 3.Facebook 4.Itunes podcast 5.Check photo stock sites for earnings along with flickr.
@jasongoldberg Mine are fairly straightforward (and not in any order) 1. Google Reader (RSS FTW!) 2. FriendFeed 3. SocialMedian 4. Twitter 5. YackTrack (to reiterate what jason said, duh!)
I do start with email to see what's going on in the social networks. so... 1. Gmail 2. Twitter through my outlook.. i.e. OutTweet 3. Linked-In (great groups and Q & A) Sort of like this I think but this is only my 2nd day here. 4. Facebook 5. digg
I was gonna guess but according to my wakoopa usage http://wakoopa.com/crashnburn007/usage it's... 1. Facebook 2. GoogleReader 3. Youtube 4. GoogleGroups 5. Digg
@thomaspower I'm with you my friend. I check FriendFeed regularly just to see if anyone is saying anything about socialmedian that I/we should know about but I really don't find much value there beyond that. I wonder if I'm too much of an intellectual snob for not caring when someone posts on FF: "who has a dog and what kind do you have?" (that was the most active post in my FF when I last checked.
@jasongoldberg @thomaspower FriendFeed takes some time to get used to. More than anything, I have found that you need time to "organize" the information before you really see the benefits. Once I moved people to a few lists, FriendFeed got a lot better to use for me.
thank god you guys have made me feel thick (dim/stupid) but doesn't this thread alone prove that Jason has built a community at SM. I guess the SM Community doesn't send out quite the right msg. Tx
@Robdiana i'm pretty new to FF and i see by your post i have to learn how to use it. As Jason and Thomas pointed out all i get is useless info too. I do get some useful stuff from Zee his post seem informative. I think i have to siv the users for info that interest me. Plus none of my friends/family use it.....
1 Twitter (mainly via Tweetdeck, sometimes via Twirl) 2 Delicious 3 LinkedIn 4 Plurk 5 Facebook 6 Flickr => What 5 only?, you must be joking, the list is so much longer, but OK, I will stop here ;)
Now, why don't you create a poll, so we can more easily see which networks are the most populars?
@NikkiPilkington I have no idea, I have yet to find a way to determine my ROI, but just because it's difficult to calculate doesn't mean you shouldn't invest. I use the free service and it may raise my profile slightly. Just type in my name and your see that the top 20 is usually a profile which is set up by me, as a independent consultant it is important that you are found and control how you are found.
Nazym adds to that ever so slightly, and time is the only marketing budget I have. :)
? Google Mail/Calendar/Docs/Reader/Groups ... ? Friendfeed and Twitter (together by IM or seperate by different methods/tools, including search and tracking services Summize, Tweetscan and a few more) ? LinkedIn ? Xing ? Socialmedian (also cross alerting by Gmail and Friendfeed)
@jasongoldberg I agree with you Jason, I use the same 5, you might try alert thingy to update you in real time as I keep tweetdeck open on one computer at all times and thingy flashes various alerts such as Friendfeed you might miss.
