Summary

I just came across this article on The Bruce Blog and thought it excellent.  Obama does have the chance to be great, and loved.  I certainly see that in him.  He is the president we need, now.

Obama Will Be One of The Greatest (and Most Loved) American Presidents

By Frank Schaeffer

Barack Obama

Great presidents are made great by horrible circumstances combined with character, temperament and intelligence. Like firemen, cops, doctors or soldiers, presidents need a crisis to shine.

Obama is one of the most intelligent presidential aspirants to ever step forward in American history. I really wish I could be optimistic about this but I can`t shake the feeling that Obama is simply the most talented at inspirational speaking and rhetoric and not much more. The level of adoration for A POLITICIAN that we are seeing is in some ways a little frightening. We are already hearing from the Democratic party that there is no way that Obama will be able to live up to all the promises that he is making. That doesn't sound very hopey-changey to me. Don't get me wrong, I am in no way a McCain supporter, (I actually think Ron Paul was the only real hope) I'm just a little skeptical that Obama is all he's cracked up to be. Until I see otherwise, I'm bound to think he's just a puppet like the rest of them albeit a very likable one. And that could just be the biggest reason to be very vigilant with what the government is going to try to pull off in the next four years.
