Looks like Google orchestrated a major product line shakeup, and announced on a newsday when everyone might be looking the other way, with Carol Bartz taking the helm at Yahoo and Steve Jobs taking an 'extended leave of absence' at Apple. Most interesting to me are the deadpooling of Dodgeball (I guess we all expected that a (Read More)

OK, I use Twitter all the time. I’ve met amazing people this year through it. Having attended numerous meetups and conventions for my Music Lesson Show, I noticed something interesting:Instead of handing out business cards, more people are asking me “What’s your Twitter?”I used to email people to stay connected. Now I follo (Read More)

Once upon a time, FeedBurner was a scrappy little web company with a big idea: Make it easier for publishers to manage their RSS feeds, and for people to use them. That was back in 2004, and FeedBurner caught on like wildfire. Bloggers loved being able to have some measure of how many people were using their otherwise unmete (Read More)
: Meh, I still like Feedburner. It takes some load off of my server (in theory) and gives me a regular feed address if I ever move my blog or change to a different format.

If you're a big SMS user, you've no doubt encountered this situation: you're sitting at your desk in front of your computer, you get an SMS message, you pick up your phone and respond. The conversation continues as you hack away on your handset keyboard, making typos and resorting to l33t speak to convey your message. All t (Read More)
: If you send two SMS to a phone and get no response you're locked out in sending any more until that individual responds. It's much more of a two way street in order to be effective.

The masterminds behind Google are pushing an initiative known as OpenSocial which aims to connect many different types of web sites using one single API. One of the fruits of OpenSocial is Google Friend Connect which seems like a technology demo on the surface, but I’ve found a couple of possibly useful gems to utilize. F (Read More)
: Is it just me? Most sites want to be social? I never heard this. Why would a web site want to give its CRM data to Google or facebook or anyone else? Why do people want to give their personnel data to a vendor? Is it just me? Why do I want to be a walking billboard for a company?

Sarah Palin has received her first job offer since failing in her bid to become vice-president of the United States -- to appear in a porno movie. (Read More)
: Seems like a pretty good offer for Caribou Barbi. The political career is in the toilet. She can't part with that wardrobe that she is supposed to give back (flannel plaid just won't do anymore!). Plus, Todd has been drooling over that Arctic Cat for years. Win-Win-Win. The big question is how are those evangelical men going to get away with watching it? You know they want to!
: I'm disappointed that this is headline-making news. Actually, I'm more disgusted that the offer was actually made. I'm by no means a Republican, but damn, people! Because a woman has made her way into a male-dominated role within the national spotlight, does it mean that she should automatically be subjected to every sexist pig joke, every female-bashing innuendo, or every rude, crude, socially unacceptable grunt and hand gesture??! This is sad, disgusting, and pathetic. It shouldn't matter what gender she is or even if she's not the brightest bulb on the strand. Hell, Dan Quayle ran and all that was said about him was some really bad potato jokes! C'mon people! It's one thing for the SNL skits, it's another to involve her, even if by name only, with any realm of adult "entertainment" industry. She clearly has not made that decision for herself. Mr. Cezar Capone should be admonished publicly by every woman, scratch that, every AMERICAN, that reads this article, not celebrated and pat on the back while sitting back to see if she takes the money. This was done solely to embarrass her and her family. In fact, I'm betting it's the RNC people behind all this because they need a scapegoat!
: Well she is a very attractive women regardless of her political affiliations or achievements. I don't think there are many who would not volunteer to assist in the endeavor.
