SecondBrain, the online content aggregator that launched a few weeks back, has added support for ten more services, including FriendFeed, Facebook, Diigo, Reddit, Mixx, Tumblr, Qik, Goodreads and Behance. While many consider SecondBrain a FriendFeed clone of sorts, there’s more to SecondBrain’s platform than lifestreaming. (Read More)

For years Digg has had an active comment community, where the comments are submitted and appear on the Digg landing page, rather than on the article linked from Digg. FriendFeed got into this game by making it possible to comment on content pulled in from multiple web services, where all the comments appear on FriendFeed, r (Read More)

At social|median, our philosophy thus far is to allow our users to comment around only summaries of other people's content. We do not think that it is "fair use" to use RSS to reproduce the entire content for commercial purposes. (I think it is fair to say that social|median is currently a commercial purpose, even though we don't currently make any money).
In the coming weeks our intent is to make it even more clear to our users when/how they are linking to the original source of the content. We're also exploring ways to give content creators more brand exposure on social|median. We need to support content creators whether they are large publishers or individual contributors and we need to do it in a way that they feel good about.
In terms of comments, we have been thinking about potentially integrating services that would aggregate comments across multiple sites. I'm curious at to what our users think about such services?
: "If Shyftr or FriendFeed or anyone else wants to enable their users to comment on my blog posts, I say fine — so long as I can easily display any comment created on their services over HERE."

Democrats should remember that we are the party that stands for counting all the votes, not ignoring them. There are still millions of votes to be counted, including from big states like Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Florida.

: No one knows better than me that John McCain isn't the best candidate by any means. He has a clear agenda on Iraq that isn't particularly a good thing for our economy or our men and women on the front lines. However, I would rather sleep at night over the next four years knowing that Hillary and John would be vigilant in keeping our borders and our citizens safe. I cannot in good conscience vote along party lines for a candidate who I feel is ignoring the issue of American security. No matter who is President, or from what party, we have enemies who would like nothing more than to bring our country to its knees. Remember the ideas that we express here are the same ideas that make other people hate us as Americans. No one wants another four years of Republican mayhem however no one wants another 9-11 either. I look forward to 2012 when this one is behind us. No one said this election would be easy.
: I will sleep well knowing that McCain will keep our borders safe like Bush and Clinton did in the years leading up to 9/11.
By making Iraq the central front in the war on terror, we will ensure that terrorists in Iraq never again attack us like they did on 9/11. (Or was it Iran? I get the two confused.)
