TechCrunch: Do a search for Google Wave on the App Store from your iPhone or desktop client, and you’ll see an application called just that pop up, ready to be installed as soon as you fork over $0.99 (or €0.79 in my case). Facebook Agrees To Set Friend Lists Free. Mashups With Twitter Lists Should Follow.

TechCrunch: Today, during the Filtering the Stream roundtable at our RealTime CrunchUp, Seesmic’s Loic Le Meur asked why Facebook isn’t giving third parties access to their Friend Lists. Vegetarian,

: What about that 5000 connection limit that nearly everyone seems to maintain, that seems to be 'de jure' for social media: Yahoo!, Facebook, etc.?

How can there be 'mashups' of ANY kind unless someone is willing to host a more powerful (and cost-effective) 'connection' system that allows 15,000 or more connections?

Then, when someone develops that system and it becomes cost-effective, won't Facebook adopt it? Isn't that now one of Facebook's key limitation - its inability to let more than 5000 persons connection any one profile, and the inability to let a person join more than 'x' groups or fan more then 'y' pages?
