A few weeks ago Rocketboom founder Andrew Baron gave us a glimpse of his next project: a new video portal with an emphasis on analytics and social interaction, dubbed Mag.ma. But aside from some nifty screen shots, nobody has really gotten a chance to play around with the site until now.Earlier this evening Baron included (Read More)

: NOW you have me thinking! ;-) Am I in too deep? Maybe! Just, for me anyways, I sit back, and watch everyone elses flow, and jump on stuff that catches my eye. Guess I haven't found my PLACE yet in this new world! But I will keep trying.

Sometimes the low hanging fruit holds the most potential - but it's hidden in plain site. Facebook opened up the activity streams of users' friends this week to outside developers to put into new interfaces. The showcase examples in the news were things like Facebook inside desktop Twitter applications. A San Francisco d (Read More)

: Kind of an interesting concept for a site-yeah I signed up and will mess around wiht it for a bit...see if there is any kind of community. The real probalem all of these sites face is building scale.
: The Summary is an Ad Graphic? I've used the Adobe AIR products, Tweetdeck and Twhirl on both my iMac and Netbook. In both instances they have failed miserably. I began to use AIR when Twhirl first came out and it crashed repeatedly. There was also the issue of it wandering all over my desktop. I uninstalled it at that time, both AIR and Twhirl and decide to wait. Well then a month or so ago I again loaded Abobe AIR and Twhilr and Tweetdeck on both the iMac and my newly acquired Acer One Netbook to give them another chance. Within two weeks of my install, they crashed on both machines. FAIL. As with many Social Networking products and tools these days, the concept is great, and it's the implementation that is lacking. I like the concept of a stand alone product and yet Adobe has failed in this instance, unlike their Adobe Reader which has worked like a charm since I first downloaded it so many years ago.
: The story was interesting, and I'm going to try some of these applications. I've had some trouble with AIR in the past, though only with the Linux client, so I understand PaulSwansen's frustration. My trouble has mostly been in keeping the apps active on multiple screens. But for a few hours at any rate, the Toodledo and Kronos apps have been stable. Haven't exactly given them a workout yet, though.

TiVoRemote is the first network-based remote control program for the iPhone. Aside from the novelty of changing the channel, you can use the iPhone's full QWERTY keyboard to search for programming.
