The masterminds behind Google are pushing an initiative known as OpenSocial which aims to connect many different types of web sites using one single API. One of the fruits of OpenSocial is Google Friend Connect which seems like a technology demo on the surface, but I’ve found a couple of possibly useful gems to utilize. F (Read More)
: Is it just me? Most sites want to be social? I never heard this. Why would a web site want to give its CRM data to Google or facebook or anyone else? Why do people want to give their personnel data to a vendor? Is it just me? Why do I want to be a walking billboard for a company?

I certainly believe so and was quoted in an Ad Age article discussing how this has already been proven in academic circles and is just seeping into mainstream digital marketing now. There's no question that by knowing what one person's interests are, you're likely to be able to target peers in his or her circle of friends m (Read More)
: Well tuned social networks and socialized users, I would say yes, to a higher accuracy. One of my friends in the physics circle might get a E=MC square Tee as a birthday or Xmas gift. Will those tools predict that others may not get the same Tee, but one may get a Tee with Einsteins photo on it? The next one a model of Hubble, and so on.. The circle might repeat again next year. I am saying the logic is there as Jason said, they just beginning to see the light. Soon we might even have Einstein ads in my birthday reminders!
: Leveraging my personal relationships for some one elses commercial gain - using my friends as sales prospects without my explicit permission or concious endorsement - honestly - I do not want to be party to selling products and services to my friends.

October 31, 2008 – This is a question that you have probably not asked yourself. According to the Constitution, to serve in the US Senate - which he currently does - requires US citizenship. But there is now a small but growing group of people who are actually questioning Obama’s citizenship credentials in the federal court (Read More)
: It's utter (and long discredited) disinformation, chiefly led by right-wing talkshow hosts who have no scruples about making completely unfounded assertions for ratings. (I know - I used to work with Michael Savage.)
Do you trust the non-partisan factcheck.org? http://tr.im/pq7 or PolitiFact http://tr.im/pq9 ? They debunked this b.s. back in June.
: @bwana Ummm... seal and signature are on the BACK SIDE of the birth certificate original, and so therefore don't appear in a scanned version as provided. Actual certificate IS signed and sealed per confirmation of the officials in Hawaii. Don't spread misinformation.
: @calgaryguru You just confirmed what I said. Do you know how easy it is to get a copy of a birth certificate for purposes like this? I can't get on a cruise ship without an _original_ copy of my birth certificate and the Obama camp provides a photocopy for proof of citizenship? And answer me this, why FREEZE the records until AFTER the election? Come on man. All I'm saying is, if it's not an issue, just provide valid proof and everyone will shut up. If you leave room for speculation, there will be speculation.

Steve Rubel of Micropersuasion fame and Robert Scoble are two of the most “bleeding edge” power users of Google Reader around. Rubel writes mini-treatises on extracting and managing data out of Google Reader that will make your head spin, while Scoble – among other things – has been a leading user of a feature called “share (Read More)
: "Pretty cool, I thought. But it wasn’t until very recently that I put it all together (sometimes I’m a little slow on these things, perhaps!) that adding a note to a shared item actually tacks that note directly onto your FriendFeed thread."
: I get all that... I do. But I still am very uncomfortable with social media sites that publish full text articles without permission. What's the thinking behind doing that ?

The Obama campaign has been building, tweaking and tinkering with its technology and organizational infrastructure since it kicked off in February 07, and today has most sophisticated organizing apparatus of any presidential campaign in history. Obama is the first to successfully integrate technology with a revamped model o (Read More)
