So what is this post really about? It’s about taking on a project which in your perspective is too large. It’s about going for a goal which seems so far and unreachable that you’re almost discouraged to start. (Read More)

Have you ever found yourself working on a project or creating a business and at the time it’s going full throttle.. a competitor launches your idea. A competitor which has a 90% similar idea and has already established its self in the market. That happened to me today. They say great ideas are born at the same time all over (Read More)

Over the last few years people have been claiming email is dead. I couldn’t disagree more. Conversations we have on Twitter, Facebook, YC HN etc.. happen there but what happens when you really want to communicate with one individual. You don’t use direct/private messages; you exchange email addresses. As long as this occurs (Read More)

Blogging as everyone's preferred method of communication may be over. What's taking its place? Lifestreaming. And don't be fooled into thinking that we're talking just about FriendFeed here - lifestreaming as a format for communication extends beyond just that one social site to encompass an entirely new way to establish yo (Read More)

IS Google Knol broken, or are they clearing out spam - some worrying looking error messages appearing at the moment on the site. (Read More)
: Your article has dropped out of the SERPs completely for me David. I can't find it in the first 10 pages at all. It was top 10 the last time I looked. Temporary freshness boost or did Google drop the ball?
I can get through to your Knol page now without an error so maybe the rankings will be restored soon. I'll be watching this with interest.
Ah yes I see it now. I was looking in the com index where it is sitting at position 25 for me. That's a big drop from the first time I looked at your SERPs after the comment you made at Sphinn..
: Google Knol is back and working fine now, but a little worrying.
Knol really needs a community channel - all I've found so far is an email address for help - the lack of community and channels for bugs / feedback is making Google look bad, and is going to discourage serious authors with a lot to offer.

Before the Eternal September, but after the Great Renaming, I learned about sex on Usenet. A few years later, on a Mac SE in a college basement, I met friends I still have today. We "spewed" about our teenage lives in ways that would be familiar to any MySpace blogger circa 2008, but that were radical, strange, and comforti (Read More)

No counterculture evolved without an unmet need. Blogging 2.0 seeks to fill the void left by the evolution of blogging into a format that no longer focuses primarily on community, a less friendly space. Blogging 2.0 tools are still evolving and emerging to fill this void, and we are still fairly early in to the process. The (Read More)

How useful can communication limited to 140 characters be for serious journalism? It turns out that the short messages you find on Twitter have proven wildly useful for some writers penning larger pieces. Here at ReadWriteWeb we've been leveraging Twitter heavily for some of our most important news writing. While cynics (Read More)
: This totally makes sense. I already use Twitter as a brainstorm tool, now I can start to look at it as a wealth of sources and jumping off points for interesting topics and features.
: Want timely updates? Twitter is a must. Whether used to get a personal take or a breaking local angle, Twitter is a tool journalists need to have at their disposal. I've used it to access people for interviews. Sometimes works quicker than phone or email!
