Hash tags are a fad.Hash tags were cool for about 10 minutes. But then they started to remind us of IRC, Meta Data, and reading a book written in another language. When Twitter hit the big time, just a couple months before the landmark “@oprah” show, all of the trending topics on Twitter were hash tags. It was new, it was co (Read More)
: I think we are going to see a resurgence in hashtag use. TVs will become Internet connected and socialstreams will run across your screen with comments from your "friends" about the show you are watching. With that said, we are going to see a need for this type of filtering. We saw the start of this with Current.tv and Facebook during the 2008 election run.

I am thrilled to announce that socialmedian is being acquired by XING of Hamburg, Germany. This is great news for socialmedian's members as XING is committed to growing and developing socialmedian both as a standalone service as well launching integrated socialmedian services on XING, one of the leading online business netwo (Read More)
: That's great for you and socialmedian. Congratulations and good luck. I've begun work on a new social media blog set to launch in the beginning of the new year but now I find myself itching to write about this news.
: that's a LOT of tools doing similar things. It's getting to a point where it's hard to tell how one is different from the other (and if they're significant).

Over the past couple of months, I’ve been curating a list of social media marketing examples. The list started with 100 examples (including 35 from Mashable) and has since tripled in size with the participation of over a hundred contributors with examples from companies around the world. Facebook Connect - the service that allows developers to access Facebook data from outside of the Facebook chrome - has been met with both cautious optimism and healthy skepticism. And with good reason. The service holds the potential to revolutionize the way we interact with social sites the Web over. At the same time, it (Read More)

Last week my column for Information Week was titled, "Always Think Before You Submit" and took a look at examples of people who made mistakes when they have said things online that have impacted their careers. : @shaynorulz @HappaHaoli @brilliantjeni Delete only helps a little. Even when you delete a tweet, it still can be searched from search.twitter.com. Also, there is no way to recall the tweet that has been delivered to all those 3rd party apps that your followers might be using.
: @Nishith - yeah too bad search.twitter.com is CURRENTLY DISABLED, don't integrate your twits into the various social aggregations. creating social silo's comprised of different audiences manages the impact of unrelated/unnecessary twits/material to a minimum - seems the olds like to turn technical glitches into an ethics debate

October 31, 2008 – This is a question that you have probably not asked yourself. According to the Constitution, to serve in the US Senate - which he currently does - requires US citizenship. But there is now a small but growing group of people who are actually questioning Obama’s citizenship credentials in the federal court (Read More)

: @bwana Ummm... seal and signature are on the BACK SIDE of the birth certificate original, and so therefore don't appear in a scanned version as provided. Actual certificate IS signed and sealed per confirmation of the officials in Hawaii. Don't spread misinformation.
: @calgaryguru You just confirmed what I said. Do you know how easy it is to get a copy of a birth certificate for purposes like this? I can't get on a cruise ship without an _original_ copy of my birth certificate and the Obama camp provides a photocopy for proof of citizenship? And answer me this, why FREEZE the records until AFTER the election? Come on man. All I'm saying is, if it's not an issue, just provide valid proof and everyone will shut up. If you leave room for speculation, there will be speculation.
