There aren't a lot of Microsoft Outlook competitors out there, but Mozilla's open-source Thunderbird is one of the best. Postbox for Windows and Mac, and built on Thunderbird code the way that Flock is based on Firefox, is a new face on the e-mail field.Postbox looks like Thunderbird, but offers a lot of Web 2.0 features.(C (Read More)
: Yes. It is too good to resist. Now I have migrated from Thunderbird to Postbox but I miss the extensions in Thunderbird. I am waiting for the Linux version as I have migrated to Ubuntu and using Wine to run Postbox ( Thank God. Wine didnt reject it) But the Postbox in Windows and in Wine are not functioning exactly same. Some buttons are missing and to open links I need to install Firefox windows version on Wine as IE in wine is not working. But I can say I am able to run Postbox on Linux. I am waiting, waiting.

Earlier this year, we featured a stealth startup called Qitera, which just launched publically today. At its core, Qitera is a social bookmarking service, but unlike most of its competitors, Qitera can not only save a screenshot of the site, but also the full text of every web page you bookmark, including those hidden behin (Read More)
: Thanks for the review. It is blend of best in the social bookmarking services. I had to use different desktop applications to get the same results and it is painful process of synchronzing my content across my other Internet enabled gadgets and computers. This service satisfies majority of my needs. But I am still experimenting with its recommendation engine.

I went on LinkedIn for the first time in months today and accepted about 150 pending contact requests. Great. Now what? I never find much use for LinkedIn except for people trying to contact me -- typically for things I'm not really interested in. I also find that if I ignore LinkedIn for a bit of time it kinda just goe (Read More)
: @VincentWright Yes. Whether it is professional networking or social networking you have to think of what you are getting out of all your hyper activity. This is very true in case of professional networking because every minute we spend there adds to cost like any other resource we use.
: Linkedin has opened me new avenues to connect to key people of my field which otherwise is not possible in Job search sites as I am representing many freelancers who don't have much time to promote their image online. Linkedin has given us front page listings in google searches to our Project Vyas which over a period of time has created recognition and credibility among our local communities as no one else in our town has used Linkedin in such an extensive way. Today many software professionals, project managers, HR people natives of my town settled abroad are trying to connect to me on their own. The secret is stand out in any network whether it is Linkedin or Stumbleupon or Digg. Stay long and consistently.

Be careful what you blog. Most bloggers feel totally safe sitting behind their computer monitors, thinking that the world can never touch them for what they blog. Most bloggers are wrong. The truth is that bloggers are being held accountable by governmental authorities like never before. (Read More)
: Yes. Many have that kind of misconception that blogging is just thinking loud. Just creating anonymous fictitious ids and names doesn't meant they cant be tracked. Either they don't know how Internet operates or quite reckless. It is much quicker to track a blogger than an author printing a provocative content in a book. Beware.
: Just use your common sense when you write and you should be OK. Would you go on TV and say the same things that you blogged? Would you sign your blog article and publish it in the local newspaper?
