What's that? socialmedian is now on FriendFeed? Yes...sort of. We have now RSS-enabled the "Me" tab on your homepage, which provides a feed of all your socialmedian activities (postings, clippings, comments). This feed formats nicely for FriendFeed or any blog roll widgets. To add your socialmedian feed on FriendFeed: (Read More)

Practically every blogger performs regular "vanity searches" to see if they were mentioned on the Web. Some use Technorati, others, Google Blog Search, or Twitter Search. And Google has made it very easy to get alerted via e-mail if your name has been mentioned out in the blogosphere. But recent efforts by MyBlogLog's "New (Read More)
: I won't have anything to do with the MyBlogLog updates thingy. It does give you way too much crap, it shows up as links in Google blog search and the "Friender" gives everyone the ability to build about 2000 friends an hour. Everyone else worries about spam and Yahoo creates it.
: I have very few good things to say about MyBlogLog. But I do have a few suggestions for how it could be improved:
1. First of all, they need to dump the incredibly restrictive interface and get the guys in from their stable mate Flickr to work on a total re-design. (note: I originally wrote this in an article of mine prior to the recent UI update — which, incidentally, isn't exactly blowin' my skirt up!)
2. Speaking of Flickr, the integration of which is appallingly “me too!” so some actual effort needs to be made there.
3. A proper email and messaging client.
4. Some method or grouping, removing, editing and re-classifying our list of contacts.
5. The new “About Me” widget is a step in the right direction. Why isn’t our profile page like that?
6. Better web traffic statistics.
7. Some kind of stewardship from Yahoo! rather than the hands-off approach of present.
