There is a lot of chatter about TweetMeme’s rather robust growth to over 18 million unique monthly visitors on Compete.com. That puts them ahead of well known sites like LinkedIn and gmail.com with 15 million and 9 million visitors, respectively, on the service). In fact, Tweetmeme currently sits as the 68th largest site on (Read More)

: I personally see Tweetmeme in use quite a lot, and it has not been around (as far as I know) for NEARLY as long as Digg or Twitter,so I wouldn't personally compare them yet. Furthermore, it might be a bit of a "blogger's niche" where social networking is concerned.

Today, it is starting to roll out a major redesign that recasts the service as a social search engine “somewhe (Read More)

By Nathan Hangen, follow him @nhangen.I can’t help it…sometimes my Twitter feed makes me want to scream. I’m reading through my DM’s and wondering what people are thinking when they send me this stuff. I don’t want to make 4,000 per month with Twitter (I do this fine on my own thank you), I don’t need 1,000 followers by the (Read More)

We are happy to announce that Facebook has acquired FriendFeed. As my mom explained to me, when two companies love each other very much, they form a structured investment vehicle...The FriendFeed team is extremely excited to become a part of the talented Facebook team. We've always been great admirers of Facebook, and our c (Read More)

: Every site I've joined which I love and invest large amounts of time into, has been acquired. I guess that's all part of being an early adopter. It’s a brilliant move by Facebook. Microsoft better make them an offer soon. The price just went up.

Alright Facebook. I didn't want it to be like this, so let me tell you in a way that you'll understand. You know how you started out as a program for nerdy college boys to rate the best ladies, find which ones were available, and see if there was a way to hook up? You know how you've grown up to now be much more than that - (Read More)

Over the last few months Twitter (or the technology of micro-blogging) has marched its way to penetrate the mainstream and just like any new web technology that does this, we see a much wider base of users and then come the spammers. Even prior to this phenomenon there was a race to gain followers. Many felt that having a (Read More)

We’ve made no attempt to hide our belief that Internet Explorer 6 must die. IE6 is an ancient browser that does not support many of the major innovations of the last 8 years. Yet it is still used by 15-25% of Internet users – and that fact alone is holding us back from a new area of web applications.Luckily, we’re not the (Read More)

If Twitter needed to pay for the media coverage the company and service gets across the board, it would have spent almost as much in 30 days than the $55 million that has been invested in the company since its inception in 2006. : @nishith Read my and Jesse Stay's blogs and you'll see why. When it comes to developers, they make Apple look friendly and open. And when it comes to users who are having problems, their support system is more secretive than a cabal of KGB agents.
