Sarah Palin has received her first job offer since failing in her bid to become vice-president of the United States -- to appear in a porno movie. (Read More)
: Seems like a pretty good offer for Caribou Barbi. The political career is in the toilet. She can't part with that wardrobe that she is supposed to give back (flannel plaid just won't do anymore!). Plus, Todd has been drooling over that Arctic Cat for years. Win-Win-Win. The big question is how are those evangelical men going to get away with watching it? You know they want to!
: I'm disappointed that this is headline-making news. Actually, I'm more disgusted that the offer was actually made. I'm by no means a Republican, but damn, people! Because a woman has made her way into a male-dominated role within the national spotlight, does it mean that she should automatically be subjected to every sexist pig joke, every female-bashing innuendo, or every rude, crude, socially unacceptable grunt and hand gesture??! This is sad, disgusting, and pathetic. It shouldn't matter what gender she is or even if she's not the brightest bulb on the strand. Hell, Dan Quayle ran and all that was said about him was some really bad potato jokes! C'mon people! It's one thing for the SNL skits, it's another to involve her, even if by name only, with any realm of adult "entertainment" industry. She clearly has not made that decision for herself. Mr. Cezar Capone should be admonished publicly by every woman, scratch that, every AMERICAN, that reads this article, not celebrated and pat on the back while sitting back to see if she takes the money. This was done solely to embarrass her and her family. In fact, I'm betting it's the RNC people behind all this because they need a scapegoat!
: Well she is a very attractive women regardless of her political affiliations or achievements. I don't think there are many who would not volunteer to assist in the endeavor.

Transition advisers to President-elect Barack Obama have compiled a list of about 200 Bush administration actions and executive orders that could be swiftly undone to reverse White House policies on climate change, stem cell research, reproductive rights and other issues, according to congressional Democrats, campaign aides (Read More)
: According to a NYTIMES article, by Janny Scott, when Obama arrived in the Illinois Senate as a brand new senator, he was greeted with taunts, name calling by his African American colleagues.
Obama's African American colleagues, held it against him, that he was a graduate of Harvard and that he was of mixed race, he wasn't black enough.
They said so to his face.
It got so bad, that a shoving match ensued between Obama and one of the principal agitators.
Stanley Crouch piece in the NY Daily News
"Obama isn't black like me illustrates the hostility that African Americans in positions of power and influence within our society had towards Obama.
What about Jesse Jackson's rude comment, "I want to cut his nuts off"?
Jesse Jackson may have been crying when Obama finally made it, but were those tears of joy or rage, because he knows he could never get it.
Obama is not an African American in the traditional sense.
There is no Public School in any ghetto that he attended anywhere in the urban centers of the USA.
His formative years were spent attending school in Indonesia.
He speaks well, eloquently, in perfect command of the English language. African Americans are coming out of the woodwork, rallying around the Obama flagpole, now, but a lot of them didn't do so in the beginning.
He owes more to the whites in the Senate that were his friends than the blacks that turned their backs on him.
I like respect and like Obama a lot.
I have tremendous respect, admiration for Barack Hussein Obama.
I have contempt for those African Americans that in their own words "gave Obama hell" when he first arrived in the Illinois Senate, because he wasn't black enough, in their opinion.

: Growing up in East Harlem, I and most of my friends, had very bad experiences with African Americans. They were bullies and we were the target. Right now, my supervisor is an African American male. His body language, tone of voice, and general attitude is like a pitbull, aggressive. I don't like it at all. He proclaims to all and sundry that Obama is his candidate. I feel uncomfortable and so do others. I like Obama, I think he is a better choice, right now, for the USA, than McCain. But I don't know if I will vote for him, I may vote for McCain. All the whites and Asians in my office are McCain voters, some of the hispanics, but not all, will vote for McCain. The blacks are all for Obama.
: I live in Orange County & commute 1 hour each way to work in NYC on a daily basis. Most of my upstate neighbors are voting for McCain, some are voting for Obama. I think McCain will get us into another war with Iran, because of his AIPAC ties. Most of my upstate neighbors think McCain is for more war also and they don't want that either. But still a lot of them are voting for McCain anyway. Maybe in the end none of this really matters.
