“YouTube, Twitter and Facebook will merge to form one super time-wasting Web site called YouTwitFace”, Conan O’Brien predicted in his hilarious Year 3000 sketch (below). He may not be far wrong: the sites are becoming increasingly intertwined, with YouTube now automatically posting videos to Twitter, and Facebook now movin (Read More)
: I have raised this issue as a result of first hand experience. What i have found-out is that, what is common sense in Western capital is not common in this part of the world. But it's understandable because old money does not want the new money to start flowing without their control.

Editor’s note: The following is a guest post by Eric Clemons, Professor of Operations and Information Management at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. In it, he argues that the Internet shatters all forms of advertising. “The problem is not the medium, the problem is the message, and the fact that it is (Read More)
: It is a long post. However much depends on other medium available for advertising. Mobile internet browsing is on a rise and you will find advertisements in this area.
Net users do not click banner advertising but when they want to buy a product, they recall it.
I have noticed the word "Save $ 130" being used to market new products for a short time ie product is offered 1/3rd the price. A good campaign would lead to fall in advertisement budget but improve sales.

: There is also the behavioral targeting solution: Companies like wunderloop allow marketers to make ads fit the internet user’s centers of interest, the information collected remaining anonymous. Because ads are personalized and relevant to each internet user, campaigns can see a 400% click increase. A man will never see an ad for a lip stick unless he is looking for one. It is important to give access to internet user information that actually interests them.
: This article is BS. Advertising is alive and well, on and offline. Advertising will always exist online and it will only grow larger with more and more users coming online every day.

Robert Scoble / Scobleizer:Why Facebook has never listened and why it definitely won't start now — My former boss, Jim Fawcette, used to say that if you asked a group of Porsche owners what they wanted they'd tell you things like “smoother ride, more trunk space, more leg room, etc.” He'd then say “well, they just design (Read More)

When Facebook updated its users' homepages last week, we already wondered how users would react to these changes. After all, when Facebook introduced the news feed in 2006, its users were anything but happy about this change. Now, a new application is quickly spreading on Facebook that allows users to vote on the new design (Read More)
: Even if the change was the best thing in the world, many people would likely still compplain. Maybe Facebook should take a leaf out of Google's book and offer new features and interfaces in beta to people who opt in first. That way they get a chance to refine the new release, and it creates a buzz that makes people want to opt in. And/or maybe making updates in smaller pieces so there's no big shock factor.
: I love the new Facebook homepage because it is easier to navigate and it allows its user to interact with their friends easier. I think more people would like the design if there were tutorials showing how to use the new changes.
