Social Media Marketing (A Warning)
Sep 09, 2008

Submitted by Eristoddle: Social Media properties just may be the focus of the next big “slap”. While its both popular and profitable right now, it seems obvious that in short time the people who are using them right will excel… and those who are simply using social media ‘for promotion only’ will find their success short-lived…. : As the article mentions, I think the key is how quickly MSM will get the difference between being "broadcast to" and "conversing with." I found exchanges exciting when I was a working journalist, but far too many folks are either intimidated or offended at being questioned. I think personality is the deciding factor as to which category a journalist will fall into moreso than age and experience. Some folks feel comfortable interacting in a non-controlled setting. Others don't.

: I agree Ryan. Dems need to be very careful here. One prob with the Dems is that they've been Limbaugh'ed and Drudge'd so often, they are just dying to hit back.
